Safety First: Buffer Zones

Modern artificial turf is fire-resistant but not fireproof. We recommend a minimum 24-inch non-combustible buffer zone around any fire feature. Popular buffer materials include natural stone, pavers, decomposed granite, or river rock that complement both the fire pit and surrounding turf.

Material Selection

For fire pit adjacent installations, we use our highest heat-resistance rated turf and recommend silica sand infill rather than rubber. This combination provides the best safety profile while maintaining the natural look and feel our clients expect.
